ABOUT THE MURAL:

This mural by Registered Artist was painted, with the help of Kat Martini, during the very first year of the festival, when it was called SolaNoir for the Great American Solar Eclipse that took place the week of the event! Originally part of the Augmented Reality animations created by Sheppa, this mural came to life and would actually sing you the Dorothy’s version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”!

The wall was donated by Rosin Preservation, a woman-owned small business that specializes in working with state and federal historical tax credits to preserve historic and iconic buildings.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Specializing in pop art influenced by the likes of Roy Lichtenstein and Marvel comics, Registered Artist’s street art can be seen throughout most Miami area neighborhoods. RA is a voracious guerilla artist who puts his work on display through stencils, decals, wheat pastes, murals, and stickers both at home and throughout his travels worldwide. Yet Registered Artist finds the time to exhibit his art regularly in solo and group art shows in local galleries as well as in other parts of the world.

In November 2015, Registered Artist was honored to be the only Wynwood artist selected as one of twenty-five international artists for the Canvas Outdoor Museum Show in West Palm Beach, Florida. The artists during the two week event created installations and murals throughout the city.

Finding a balance between the gallery and urban landscapes is important to Registered Artist who constantly gives back to his community any way he can. RA is the founder and director of Free Art Fridays for the Miami-Dade chapter as well as Broward County's. These chapters are part of an international movement that makes art accessible to everyone. It conducts weekly free art scavenger hunts that is open to artists and art lovers alike. ”  www.WYN317.com
